Giving children a chance at education in Borno State, Nigeria
11 March 2026

In some of the most remote and hard-to-reach communities in Borno State, Nigeria, years of conflict and insecurity have left many children out of school, including internally displaced children, returnees, and children from host communities. Girls and children with disabilities face even greater barriers to safe and quality education.
Thanks to the support of the European Union, JRS Nigeria is helping these children return to school. In addition to increasing access to education, the project also focuses on improving the quality of teaching through teacher training initiatives, and targeted support to schools and caregivers to ensure long-term sustainability.
In these short videos, we hear directly from those who have experienced this change in their schools and communities.
