Earthquake in Myanmar: JRS calls for disaster relief
31 March 2025
Myanmar faces yet another tragedy amid the ongoing conflict. The earthquake is likely to cause further displacement. Aid must be channelled through local community groups and frontline responders. By leveraging existing networks, resources, and experience, the Catholic Church can play a crucial role in providing relief, recovery, and long-term support to those affected by the earthquake.
JRS calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities to end further suffering and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance without hindrance.
We express our deepest sorrow for the communities devastated by the earthquake that has shattered lives in Myanmar and Thailand.
Please join us in praying for people who have lost their lives and those who have been displaced. We will continue to provide updates as we receive more information.
