Food distribution in Aleppo to respond to the earthquake

Work with us

At the heart of our organization is our commitment to walk with the people we serve and accompany throughout the experience of displacement.

In order to fulfill that commitment, we work with almost 9,000 people worldwide, who are engaged with JRS as staff (employees), contractors, religious workers, volunteers or interns.

JRS operates in 58 countries. JRS staff are both international and local professionals, who work for Country of Regional JRS Offices or in the International Office in Rome.

What matters to us?

We seek to engage people with the highest technical and behaviour skills as well as strong commitment in accompanying refugees and internally displaced persons in their journey. Our work cannot succeed without the contribution of exceptional people. Our recruitment and employment policies are guided by the following core principles:

  • Diversity and Inclusion: JRS welcomes people from all faiths, beliefs, nationalities, and backgrounds to join our family.
  • Ethical conduct: JRS Staff must uphold and promote the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in carrying out the organization’s mission
  • Commitment to JRS core values: Dignity, Solidarity, Compassion, Participation, Justice, Hospitality, and Hope.

What do we do for our staff?

JRS offers diverse and exciting career possibilities with the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of refugees and internally displaced persons.

The organization also recognizes its ethical and legal obligation to protect and promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of staff. We care for and respect an individual’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs.
JRS also has a Global Staff Care Project that focus on employee wellbeing.
