Serving refugee children with special needs in Kenya: A video reportage

Children with cognitive and intellectual disabilities are particularly vulnerable to stigma and discrimination and are often segregated. This situation is exaxerbated in refugee camps, where children with special needs often lack access to needed services.

In Kakuma refugee camp, in northwestern Kenya, JRS, in partnership with UNHCR, provides protection and quality education to children living with disabilities and offers support to their families.
