A heart
that hopes
Mya, 11, comes from Myanmar. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up,
but because of the crisis that has hit the country for the past two years,
access to education for children has been reduced to nothing.
JRS associates itself with the words of Mya and the many other displaced children in Myanmar:
“may peace reign immediately in Myanmar.” JRS calls for displaced children
to have access to humanitarian aid, including education programmes.
“I want to go back to school in my village. I want to study in peace.
Work together, shake hands.” Pan, aged 12, believes that this is the way to improve
the situation in Myanmar.
Our forcibly displaced friends teach us to have:
A heart that hopes
Myanmar
In 2021, a military coup led Myanmar into
a humanitarian and human rights catastrophe.
An estimated 94,000 people have fled the country and nearly
2 million are internally displaced.
