Kosovo has experienced displacement of its own people and is still recovering from war and unrest in its recent past.
Some asylum seekers do apply in Kosovo, but many are only in transit to another destination in Europe. It is challenging for asylum seekers to integrate in Kosovo, as jobs are scarce and little social assistance is available.
Our work in Kosovo
JRS Kosovo provides services to asylum seekers staying at a state run asylum center near the city of Pristina. At the center, JRS offers a variety of services including Albanian language courses.
