Christmas Campaign
This Christmas let’s harness the hope for peace that the season brings and channel it into action. Each of us is called to be a Peace Artisan and contribute to the making of the mosaic of peace.
This Christmas season finds us surrounded by millions of our sisters and brothers forcibly displaced by escalating conflicts and violence. Increasing suffering and turmoil in the Middle East, Sudan, Myanmar, the DRC, Ukraine, and beyond are causing unimaginable losses. Around the world, harsh climatic, economic, and political conditions forced children, women, and men to leave their homes.
The millions of people who courageously seek safety and a chance at a better future are often encountered with more hostility and social tension upon their arrival in new places. Last September, Pope Francis, during his visit to Marseille, urged us to respond to these complex challenges with solidarity: “Brothers, sisters, let us face these problems together; let us not cause hope to shipwreck; let us together make a mosaic of peace!”
This Christmas let’s harness the hope for peace that the season brings and channel it into action. Just like artisans patiently crafting unique items, we too can devote our time and care to creating peaceful communities. Each of us is called to be a Peace Artisan and contribute to the making of the mosaic of peace.
